The 47th District Court in Farmington Hills is a busy court in western Oakland County which handles many drunk driving cases that arise from the 696 corridor, as well as those which are pulled over by local Farmington and Farmington Hills Police. The court is presided over by Judges James Brady and Marla Parker, who have both served for a lengthy period of time. When dealing with a drunk driving OWI case, both judges are reasonable and do not employ jail time in normal circumstances. Judge Parker conducts a sobriety court and Judge Brady employs his own signature probation conditions in a drunk driving sentence.
As lifelong Oakland County residents and lawyers who practice drunk driving defense in the 47th District Court all of the time, we can say that this is a good court to be in if you are facing an operating while intoxicated case. The prosecutors are very reasonable and are not afraid to do the right thing when appropriate and the judges feel the same way. Even the police officers of Farmington and Farmington Hills can be quite reasonable at times and Amberg & Amberg trial lawyer Jim Amberg feels that both departments are easy to deal with and willing to seek justice rather than to simply convict.
